We're the team, but the goats are really in charge!
Our farm is located in scenic upstate New York, right outside of Cooperstown. We use our goat's milk to create our beautiful soaps, lotions and other skin care products. We also offer a variety of gift baskets, available to purchase at our country store onsite.
We moved out here in 2011. The first thing we did was fence in a large backyard area so we could let our 2 golden retrievers out to run and play. Then came the chickens. I often joke that chickens are the gateway drug leading to a farm animal addiction!! I loved my chickens and especially the fresh eggs we soon started enjoying. The sheep came next and then soon after that, the goats.
We raise Nigerian Dwarf goats, a miniature dairy breed of goats, that provide us with up to two quarts of sweet milk per day per milking doe. We use this milk to create many beautiful and beneficial soaps and lotions as well as other products. They are a multi purpose breed that is extremely friendly and docile.
We have recently added Finnsheep to the farm; two beautiful soon-to-be mamas, Charlotte and Mabel, and one handsome guy, Angus, who came to us from Rivendell Farm, a local sheep farm here in Oneonta, NY. We look forward to seeing what the future of our flock has in store for us!
Meet our mamas
Middle Grove PCL Simplicity aka "Macy" (out of NC Promisedland S Cyclone and Middle Grove Maybelle). This photo was taken by our niece Lauren and I’m so in love with it because she completely captured Macy’s personality. She is our strong, stoic herd queen and I love her fiercely!
LALF Calliope aka "Callie" (out of Lil' Ohana Farm HB Aspen and LALF Marigold). Callie's complex markings and beautiful moonspots match her personality. She is independent and fiesty and selective about her snuggle-sessions.
Charlotte (Rivendell 1102 Beatrice)
Our herd queen, Macy, with her kids from 2018.
LALF Marigold (out of Helderberg BH Honey Behr and Lil' Ohana Farm BRI Pinelope) is very unassuming - quiet, but not shy, she'll be right there waiting for a snuggle.
LALF Athena (out of AGS All-R-Kids Bandit and LALF Middle Grove PCL Simplicity) is a sight to behold with her stunning multi-colored markings and striking blue eyes courtesy of her Daddy, Bandit. She is another of our most friendly and outgoing girls on the farm.
Mabel (Rivendell 1084 Celia)
Lil O'Hana Farm BRI Pinelope
aka "Penelope" (out of CH Chenango-Hills PV Brigadier and Lil' Ohana Farm BGA Shelby) is second in command to Macy. Here she is with her kids from 2018.
LALF Tiramisu (out of Helderberg BH Honey Behr and Middle Grove PCL Simplicity) was given her name because of her striking markings and coloring that are reminiscent of the decadent Italian dessert. She is one of our sweetest, most outgoing girls, always by our side when we are in the pasture.
Here, Athena is being loved on by our youngest granddaughter, Kennedy. She is always up for a scratch or a snuggle!
LALF Petunia aka "Tunie" (out of Helderberg BH Honey Behr and Middle Grove PCL Simplicity) is the strong independent type. She is definitely her mama's daughter.
LALF Gingersnap aka "Ginger" (out of Lil' Ohana Farm HB Aspen and Lil' Ohana Farm BRI Pinelope) is another mama named after a beloved dessert. Her two babies from last season are still on the farm, following her every step.
LALF Mulan aka "Moo" (AGS All-R-Kids Bandit and LALF Tiramisu) is another stunner with her black and white spots and markings. This year will be her first freshening and we're excited to see her beautiful babies in the spring!
